Your goals are the most strategic lever to improve your ecosystem

[Reading time: 4 minutes]

In this article I want to talk about a method that has been very useful to me for creating an inspiring ecosystem that promotes the growth of myself and the people around me.

CONTEXT

When you commit to your goals (getting a promotion at work, saving and investing, exercising consistently, giving your family a secure future, etc.), you positively influence your spouse/partner, children, team, colleagues, and friends.

They will see you as a role model, a leader to follow.

At the same time, you'll attract people inspired by your determination and charisma, creating a growth ecosystem where everyone is motivated to realize their potential.

You will be motivated by the commitment of those around you.

In short, a virtuous and transformative circle will be created  for you and for the others who are next to you.

You may be wondering:

"Ok interesting, Silvia.

But how can I use my goals as a strategic lever to improve my ecosystem and accelerate the achievement of my results?"

I'm going to share with you the method I've used in my journey and that, inspired by Archimedes' famous phrase, could help you use your goals as levers to lift "your world".

THE METHOD

  1. Define Your Goals and Action Plan. If you need help defining them, see the endnotes for more details.

  2. Share Your Goals with people you trust (spouse, children, friends, team, colleagues, mentors, etc.) explaining the challenges and how you deal with them. Also ask them if they have any goals they want to achieve and how you can help each other

  3. Hold Regular Meetings with each of them to review and discuss your progress. You could schedule one day a month with your team to review your business goals or a dinner with your spouse/partner to talk about your progress. You will see an exponential evolution in the quality of your conversations: you will no longer do the usual small talks (such as talking about the weather ⛈️), but you will discuss something much deeper and more important: your aspirations, your dreams, your future.

WHY IT WORKS

Here are some personal examples:

  • My husband initially thought I was crazy when he saw me awake at 5:10 a.m. to work on my projects. However, my consistency inspired him to do the same and create his own morning routine dedicated to the gym, our foundation, and real estate investing. Seeing him so focused and disciplined (as well as amazing me 🤭), motivated me to pursue my goals with even more determination. Now there are two  crazy people in the house 😜.

  • My Team: When I worked at EDF, I shared personal and business goals with my team, inspiring them to set and achieve their own life and work goals. We would get together regularly for lunch to talk about our goals and motivate each other, thus creating an extraordinarily stimulating and motivating environment for everyone.

One goal at a time, you will create a better world around you
